How To Become A Christian

The decision to accept Jesus Christ as one's Savior is the greatest decision you will ever make in life. The following is a guide that comes from various verses in the Bible that will help you understand the basis for this important decision and show how you can become one of God's children.

Admit
  • you are a sinner and have disobeyed God's commands
  • you are currently on the path to Hell
Believe
  • Jesus is the Son of God
  • He willingly died on the cross to take punishment for your sins
Confess
  • your own inability to quit sinning and to make yourself righteous
  • your sins to God and ask Him to forgive you
Decide
  • you will put your faith in Jesus as your Savior
  • you turn from your sins (repent)
  • you will live for God from now on as He gives you the strength to do so

The following is a suggested prayer that you can pray to become a Christian.

Dear God, I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and that He died on the cross for my sins. I put my faith in Him as my Savior. I confess my sins to you right now and ask you to forgive me. I promise to live for you from now on as you give me the strength and understanding to do so.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
